The goal of this student chapter is to involve students interested in meteorology with activities related to this field. According to our constitution, our organization will "foster the growth of operational meteorology at Iowa State University by providing the community with a social and scientific point of contact for meteorological interests."

Membership Qualifications
Membership is open to any student with an interest in meteorology and its related fields at Iowa State University and who agrees to abide by the requirements of this constitution, the Iowa State University, and the American Meteorological Society.
Membership Restrictions
We do not restrict our membership, but do strongly encourage an interest in weather.
Elections
We hold officer elections at the conclusion of the academic year during our final official monthly meeting.
Meetings
Either 3128 or 3140 Agronomy. Storm Spotter Training was held in 2050 Agronomy.
Activities
Desc. of Regular Meetings/Activities
ISU AMS holds monthly meetings to discuss community outreach and university involvement. At meetings the chapter schedules Science Nights/School Talks, participation in LAS Major Fair, Clubfest and other commitments. We schedule storm spotter training sessions, and offer opportunities for underclassmen to meet with professionals in various areas of meteorology. We encourage attendance of lectures pertinent to meteorology within ISU Lecture Series. We also organize social activities to foster good relationships within major. Our academic chair organizes test review sessions and our sophomore chair tries to reach out to freshmen. Our organization creates a safety net and network for ISU Meteorology Majors to rely on, and we are very active and involved with both the university and the community.
