Description
Composed mainly of construction and mechanical engineering students with an interest in the specialty trades of mechanical construction. The chapter has monthly meetings with guest speakers, volunteer activities, monthly MCA of Iowa meetings in Des Moines or Cedar Rapids, and a national student competition in the fall. Others include golf outing, a tailgate, jobsite tours, and FACs. Come network with contractor members and see what heating, cooling, and new mechanical systems are like.

Desc. of Regular Meetings/Activities
At a monthly meeting MCA beings in a subcontractor either in the sheet metal or plumbing subcontracting area of construction. At the beginning of the meeting the cabinet goes over upcoming events - community service, field trips, leadership opportunities, events with MCA of Iowa. Then students get FREE pizza and pop (if a member or attend the meeting). Following that is the presentation. Meetings normally average about 1 hour and 15 minutes long for entire duration.

ISU MCA participates in the College of Engineering Clubfest, the CCEE clubfest, and VEISHEA Village.
We also hang flyers around Town Engineering and Black Engineering about one week prior to a meeting, send out e-mails, and write on chalkboards advertising our monthly meetings.
