The student chapter of the AHVMA introduces students to holistic veterinary medicine which considers the whole patient, environment, disease pattern, and relationship of the pet with the owner, in developing a treatment protocol using a wide range of therapies for healing the patient. These therapies include modern drugs, surgery, diagnostics, nutritional therapy, behavior modification, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, herbal medicine, and veterinary chiropractic.
