The Ames ISU-YMCA has an ongoing mentoring program called "Y-Pals" in two different elementary schools in Ames as well as mentoring in the middle school and high school.

About: Halloween at the Y - A great event that utilizes many Iowa State Universtiy volunteers. The actual event is free and open to the public. Families participate in a variety of games and theme appropriate activities. Frequency: Once a year Est. Attendance: 350 members, 0 non-members
About: Giving Tree - A gift giving program that runs off of generous donations of food and gifts from the Iowa State faculty that benefits 70 youth and 25 families in the Ames community every Christmas. Frequency: Annually
