About: Career Preview Days - Career Preview Days offers students a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into their field of interest. As a CPD participant, you will be connected with an Iowa State Alumnus working in a position in which you indicate an interest. A Student Alumni Leadership Council Ambassador will connect you with an alumnus and their contact information. You can then contact them and set up a shadow that works best for both your schedule as well as the host's. You will be given a chance to “shadow” this employee as he or she completes his/her typical tasks and ask any questions you have about this career opportunity. Conversely, if you wish to visit a particular business, we will attempt to arrange this as well.
Prior to your job shadow you will receive information on how to prepare for your shadow, pointers on how to prepare, what to expect, questions to ask, how to network, and how to prepare for the workforce while still in college.
Career Preview Days is open to any SAA member in all majors and grade levels. Your job shadow will take place any time throughout the spring semester. Your actual shadow date and time will depend on both your schedule as well as the host's.
As soon as your application is received we will begin the connection process between students and alumni. Frequency: Yearly during each fall and spring semester Est. Attendance: 16 members, 150 non-members Depts. Involved: ISU Alumni Association |
