The name of this organization is the Iowa State University Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT). The purpose of this organization shall be: (A) To encourage interest and relationships in agricultural communications. (B) To advance the interchange of ideas among students and faculty and with other ACT chapters. And (C) Establish contacts through the organization, along with other communication organizations.

Membership Qualifications
Membership shall be open to and composed of all registered Iowa State University undergraduate and graduate students interested in agricultural communications. ACT does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, marital status, disability, or status as a U.S. Veteran.
Membership Restrictions
You do not have to have any specific major to be involved in this organization. It is open to any student with an interest in agricultural communications.

Desc. of Regular Meetings/Activities
Meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Each meeting starts off with the AgEd Club and Colligate FFA. We usually enjoy dinner before the meeting, have a guest speaker, and then break out into our separate club meetings. Our separate club meeting consists of officer reports, new and old business, and planning for club activities.

About: Essay Contest - For the last two years, ACT has held an essay contest open to high school freshmen and sophomores. Students write an essay in response to "What Agriculture Means to Me." The top three winners receive a scholarship to attend the Iowa State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Frequency: annual Depts.
